ATLANTA – The Georgia State Conference of the NAACP is set to host “Georgia NAACP Day at the Capitol.” The one-day event, slated to take place on the Association’s 115th Founders Day, will include a pre-Lobby Day rally held on Monday, February 12, 2024. NAACP leaders and Georgia area voting advocates will convene at Central Presbyterian Church to discuss 2024 policy priorities before unit presidents meet with state legislators at the State Capitol. Participants of the rally consist of Members of the NAACP National Board of Directors, Statewide Unit Presidents, and Youth & College Leaders. Local participants include Atlanta community leaders and partner organizations of the NAACP Georgia State Conference.
“Our annual Legislative Day is a pivotal gathering of dedicated leaders and community members who understand the importance of amplifying our collective voices,” said Gerald Griggs, President, Georgia State Conference of the NAACP. “Through our day of action and engagement with state legislators, we are setting the stage for a productive legislative session that will emphasize the priorities of our community members. Together, we can empower Georgians to remain civically engaged and prepared to mobilize in every election. This is what democracy looks like.”
