GEORGIA NAACP CELEBRATES THE 114TH FOUNDERS' DAY

The Georgia NAACP celebrates the 114th NAACP Founders' Day. President Gerald Griggs commented on Founders' Day:

"I rise to celebrate the 114th Anniversary of the founding of The NAACP. For 114 years, The NAACP has fought against racial intolerance, violence, and discrimination. The NAACP has fought for and achieved many successes in advancing the rights of People of Color, but the fight continues. As we celebrate the efforts of Walter White, WED Dubios, Roy Wilkins, Ida B. Wells, Thurgood Marshall, Rosa Parks, and countless others in Georgia, we must continue to work for this great Association. Therefore, in 2023, we will continue to fight against the attempts to whitewash history, suppress the vote, weaponize political discourse, and continue to ills of Police Violence. Thank you to the leaders of The NAACP for the work of the past, and it is time for us to fight to ensure a bright future for all people, especially Black Georgians."
